...the wheels on the bus go round and round... [06 Apr 2003|05:55am]

[ music | Save Me (Underdog) || Turin Brakes ]

Well, I plan here to completely waste my time and effort with another public relations update at 5.30 am, with no sleep behind me.

First off, Projekt: Revolution kicks off Tuesday in Rochester, NY. The dates are as follows. Memorise and love...
Apr 08 - Rochester, NY - Blue Cross Arena
Apr 09 - State College, PA - Bryce Jordan Center
Apr 11 - Evansville, IN - Roberts Stadium
Apr 12 - Memphis, TN – Mid-South Coliseum
Apr 13 - New Orleans, LA – Keifer UNO Lakefront Arena
Apr 15 - El Paso, TX - Don Haskins Center
Apr 16 - Albuquerque, NM - Tingley Coliseum
Apr 18 - Phoenix, AZ - America West Arena
Apr 19 - Tucson, AZ - Tucson Convention Center
Apr 21 - Salt Lake City, UT - E Center
Apr 22 - Boise, ID - Idaho Center
Apr 23 - Spokane, WA - Spokane Arena
Apr 25 - Billings, MT - MetraPark Arena
Apr 26 - Rapid City, SD - Rushmore Plaza Civic Center

If you are lucky enough to have M&G access to these shows, this will be before the show. Once inside the venue, you will not be allowed back out (we're serious, we want to take you all on tour with us!!). Meet and Greet passes will be picked up inside. You will be separated into LPUers and others inside, so if you're with a non-LPU friend, they will get in early and have a great spot to stand in. As the Meet and Greet is early, one would hope you haven't signed up if you can't attend. Girls and boys, that is plain selfish.

Keep yourself up-to-date with the Projekt: Revolution player...

Also, a big old congratulations for us all, please. A pat on the back for the 18 months of hard work that have made Meteora number 1 album in 16 countries - the United States, Spain, Slovenia, the UK, Japan, Germany, Italy, Austria, Chile, Indonesia, Ireland, Norway, Switzerland Taiwan, the Czech Republic and Hong Kong. Check out Meteora in stores now.

All 9 episodes of LPTV are now out and about. You can check for yourself on the Meteora player, along with a load of other stuff. Don't ask what, go and find out yourselves.

You may or may not be interested in the knowledge that members of the Armed Forces get to see us free on the 8th. It's a small gesture, we know, and probably appears facile. But it's a gesture none-the-less.

For the rest of you number crunchers, chew on this one and then tell us about sophomore albums:

01. LINKIN PARK WARNER BROS. 833,670
METEORA
02. CELINE DION EPIC 455,215
ONE HEART
03. NOW 12 CAPITOL 249,805
VARIOUS
04. 50 CENT SHADY/AM/INTERSCOPE 198,336
GET RICH OR DIE TRYIN'
05. NORAH JONES BLUE NOTE 139,563

It is still unclear how many copies were sold in the UK so the current worldwide total sales for Meteora are unknown. What is known is that LP will go platinum by next week in the US.

Also this totally beats Hybrid Theory in first week sales as HT sold a mere 50,000 copies in the first week. Meteora has it beat by a good 783,000 copies.

Platinum in two weeks. Can't be bad.

Anyways. I'm going to click update and sort this into something approaching coherrent when I'm more awake...

This concerns the [info]mike__shinoda journal...

OOC )

[[If you didn't read that, folks, the gist is that [info]mike_k_shinoda is the NEW LiveJournal Mike Shinoda. If those of you who care would be so kind as to add him over the old Mike (once more, for the record, that is [info]mike__shinoda), I would be eternally grateful.

Heartfelt thanks, in advance.

...never ceasing, ever spinning... [22 Feb 2003|05:25am]

[ music | Pieces Mended || The Used ]

Occassionally, as I sit here, I remember that I have a journal and that, as such, I do need to update it once in a while. I guess I could leave it longer to update, but I don't really want to. Instead, I scrape the barrel of my existance to find something amusing to say, or to type something thought provoking. Not that I ever succeed, but the theory is sound.

I'm running through a checklist of things that I could talk about and every thing I come across, I cross off. I don't know why, really, it just all seems so inappropriate right now. Once again, I think this is probably just me.

I think we've covered the release of Meteora to death, although, if you do care at all, you can pre-order your copy here or via Official Site, information that I will probably transfer to an unlocked post in a minute.

Does it say something about me that at 5.25 in the morning, I am sitting here chewing my nails and typing an obsolete entry into my journal? It's not that Mike has done anything, and I have no reason to be sitting here when I can feel tiredness sweeping through my limbs. And yet somehow I just can't bring myself to power down the laptop and go to him. We all know, I should make the most of the time we do have, because tour bus bunks are not made for two people, and, tomorrow, we have a show in Milan. Now there is a date that has crept up on me, somehow I had fooled myself that it was further away.

And then, with the last date, in England, on March 7th, it's back home for a short period and off again, since we are touring with both the Summer Sanitarium (with Metallica, Limp Bizkit, Mudvayne and Deftones) and Projekt: Revolution. The cities we are visiting on the latter, along with Mudvayne (yes, again), X-Zibit and Blindside, have been announced on the News section of the Official Site. I would imagine that the Summer Sanitarium list is there as well, but I haven't checked, since I know pretty much where we're going. Failing that, if you're a member of the LPU, check the news page there.

I think perhaps I'm going to leave this post unlocked, since most of the information is general knowledge. There's nothing in here that is anything less that public.

4 days until the launch of the new layout site, thank god for that, because the fill in with the dull brown? It's beginning to grate, it offends my artistic sensibilities, even though I know that it's existance is entirely justified whilst they get the new site proper worked out.

March 3rd would be the official launch date of Meteora, and the album actually hits the shelves March 24th internationally and March 25th in America. Remember the dates and repeat after me. March 24th Internationally, March 25th in America. The launch date, we're in England, since we have shows in London on the 5th, and then at Manchester on the Friday, the 7th.

Who knew I'd be the one making entries like this, huh? Not my usual style, nevermind, it's got to be done and since I'm awake at this time the day before the kickoff of the tour, it might as well be me.

Meet and Greet information as follows.

Meet and Greet Information

1. All LPU members are welcome to participate in the meet and greet held after the show, regardless of whether tickets were purchased or complimentary. All friends and family that are not LPU members will not be allowed into the meet and greet area. (Exception: members under the age of 13 will be escorted by a parent or guardian)
2. Meet and Greet passes need to be picked up at the LPunderground ticket window PRIOR to show start time. The window will not be open the entire night so please be sure to arrive on time.
3. Linkin Park will be signing items at the meet and greet. There is a limit of one item per member.
4. Photography will be allowed but all professional cameras will be taken away.

The Street Soldiers should all be in place, or getting there by now. Most of them will have been alerted as to the failure/success to make the team. Failing that, there is the Online Team, as mentioned in the post below this one.

If there is anything I've magically left out of this, the don't hessitate to contact me. If I know the answer, I will give it to you. That's all. I have nothing else to say.

I know you all care deeply, so I'll leave this unlocked...

1. Join the Official Online Team - help us to promote Meteora. You know you want to.

And, for the others of you who haven't seen it...

2. Watch LPTV - our band is smutty, occassionally. Actually, no, we're complete innocents, we just don't think before we say things and they come out wrong. Brad's the worst culprit. You know the drill on this, click the link and then right click the files, save target as. You got it.

That's all. Log in, there is a short post below this one.

A waste of two updates, I know... Trust two band members to have to be born this month. Damn them!

Happy Birthday to Mike.

No matter what I say or how hard I try, I can't get him out of my system. Quite frankly, I don't want to. Sorry if that loses me your respect, you love...

All I want and need is him...

And he's 26 today. Show a little respect!

Q Magazine - apparently, Chester is, according to Q, the 20th most Powerful Person in Music today. Which, incidentally, knocks the socks off of Elvis and Jon Davis (who's only 34th!)

On a side note, when did it become, and I quote, 'Chester and the band'? Hello, there's six of us... Even our lovely, former 'co-vocalist' is now merely 'the band', and it's almost Chester's band. Apparently...

*laughs again*

By all accounts, someone from our record label said that. Got to love 'em.

That, folks, was all...

New journal! Go me! [30 Sep 2002|10:00pm]
So, my fat ass finally got around to getting this thing up and running. It's been sitting here a while now, pretty much dormant. Because my ass is not only fat, but lazy. But it is a nice ass, so I can live with myself.

So. I've been...okay, on the whole. I'm back. At least, I think I'm back. I've been pretty busy, what, with one thing and another, but I've got some free time, and there's no time like the present to say a big hiya to all my fans...

My fans? Who am I kidding?

And... That, I think, is the sum total of the exciting things happening in the world of The Chairman, Mr Hahn.

Okay - your "new" Joe has arrived. I want to make it absolutely crystal clear right now that I believe this to be LP RP. Hangers-on and groupies are not my thing. Don't take offence...

Because I'm lazy, the old icons stay. Besides, I have neither the skill nor the want to make new ones.

So, yeah. Anyways...

Can everybody bounce with me?!]
